Joe & co--

I bought the game on Humble Widget embedded on the ToG site. I would like to continue to play DRM free, but my Steamy friends are telling me that two updates have already hit Steam. I'm jealous. My Humble Library still shows version 1.00D. Is it true that Steam users are getting updates but the DRM free copy is not getting updated?

Thanks for the great game!

blankslatejoe intends to release/maintain across multiple platforms.

I know that he's been having some trouble with Steam and also another portal, so that's probably been taking up his attention. Hopefully the Humble version is fixed up soonest!

So, only one update has been pushed through steam so far, not two, and that was a fairly small patch (and a fairly nervous trial-by-fire of Steam's live updating process).

I'll be pushing a second patch probably within a couple of weeks and, yes, GoG/Humble/IGS will absolutely get updates. I just got sucked into preparations for, and then attending, the GDC trade show.

That sounds great, Joe. I'll wait, then. I do use Steam when I have no choice, but I always prefer DRM-free because that way I don't have to remember to log off of one computer before launching on another. I know, everyone says you can just disconnect the current session from the new computer by typing your Steam password...to which I say, "What, you think I use non-random memorizable passwords? What is this, 1998?" Anyway...thanks for getting back to me. I'm looking forward to the next version. 1.00D is doing just fine for the time being.
